Agnès Hubert

is an experienced policy maker and a recognised author on EU gender equality policy and social innovation in the EU. She is currently associate researcher with PRESAGE (Programme de Recherches et d’Enseignements des Savoirs sur le Genre) at Science Po/OFCE Paris, visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges, founding member and president of the first European feminist think tank Genderfiveplus.com and member of the Haut Conseil de l’Egalité, the advisory body to the French government on equality between women and men. An economist by training, she was a journalist before joining the European Commission where she held senior advisory functions dealing with gender equality and social innovation, contributing to raising these issues at the highest levels in European institutions. She has written books (L’Europe et les femmes, identités en mouvement, 1998; Democracy and information society in Europe, 1997), major policy documents on social innovation for the European Commission (Empowering people, driving change: Social innovation in the European Union, 2010; Social innovation a decade of changes, 2014) and a number of peer-reviewed academic articles and book chapters in her fields of expertise. She has also produced and co-directed the film Eliane Vogel Polsky, champion of the cause of women in Europe. She has taught courses on gender and the European Union at the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy (Tufts University, Mass. USA), the Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales in Madrid, Science Po Paris, and in the Collège d’Europe (Bruges).
